Why Should I Start With a 4GMP Machine?

You should start with a lower GPM machine because most of your higher rate machines require extra water tanks to keep up with water requirement. Simply put, your average garden hose does not provide enough water.

If you want to go up to an 8 GPM machine you will need a trailer with hose reels, a water tank and have the engine and pump mounted on the trailer to keep it secure. Trailers like this can cost anywhere from $8,000-$40,000 to purchase or set up.

When you start to grow your business and decide it is time to move to a higher GPM machine, you will always have a good backup machine the provides enough throughput to get your jobs done professionally.

Why Would I Need a Higher GPM Machine?

The higher the GPM, the faster you can move on a job. The PSI matters a little bit but your GPM is essential. If you try to do professional work using a smaller machine such as a 2.4 GPM you will end up spending loads of time going slow to ensure your work looks good.

More gallons per minute means faster work. 4 GPM is a good starting point for professional power washing because it is enough to get the job done efficiently without breaking the bank or having to have an expensive trailer setup.

What Other Things Do I Need?

The options are endless for pressure washing attachments. Here are a few of my favorites:
